M-SYSTEM boxed accessory shoe 1

I wonder how many boxed M-SYSTEM items still exist. I know a super collector who has many many boxed items but if I ignore those being kept in his hands, it's not often to see M-SYSTEM boxes.

Saw this M-SYSTEM hotshoe 1 sometime ago. The seller was asking for some money so I didn't get that.

Finally, another one came up and I decided to get it because I don't see these coming up for sale often.

It wasn't cheap for such an item but a fairer price than the previous one.

Basically, the hotshoe is the same as the one you can find on an M-1 or very early OM1.

And it's very common for these to oxidise and melt at the bottom, resulting in a white powdery gooey plastic which eats up the top plate of the camera. Therefore, if you decide to get a camera with this type of hotshoe mounted, be sure to ask the seller to remove it so that you can check out the condition of the top plate. Once the chrome on the top plate is eaten up, it's very hard to remove the marks.

This particular one hasn't melted yet. Still in good condition. A nice add to my collection!
