New Old Stock? M-SYSTEM 200mm F4
OM lenses are more affordable (except some exotic ones) compared to many other brands like Leica, Zeiss, Hasselblad, etc.
Most of the time, OM lenses are being used as daily shooters by many photographers. With daily uses, it's almost inevitable to leave some scratches or paint loss to the barrels.
If you want to collect OM items, it would be pretty tough to find a minty one.
Yet, I seem to have come across one or two.
It's the M-SYSTEM 200mm F4.
The barrel has only one or two sand grain size paint loss.
It's a 45 year old lens!!
Look at how beautiful it is!

The focus ring is basically like new.

Look at the purplish blue coating!

Same deep blue coating on the rear element

Isn't it beautiful?

Mesmerising!!

The 200mm F4 tends to be an easier focal length for you to find copies with pristine glasses.
A fellow OM lover asked me why.
I believe it's because the lens is a bit big (but not heavy) and that doesn't feel quite like OM's philosophy. Therefore, people tend to leave it unused.
However, this is an M-SYSTEM version! This is one surprising find. Very very minty copy. Love it!
Cheers,
